Transfiguration is total transformation of human appearance into a Divine appearance. It is a complete change of appearance and form into a more beautiful or spiritual state. During His earthly life here on earth our Lord Jesus Christ experienced Transfiguration. He experienced heaven while he was still here on earth.

In the gospel of Mark 9:2-10 Jesus took with him Peter, James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves; and he was transfigured before them, and his garments became glistening, intensely white, as no fuller on earth could bleach them…” Imagine, out of the twelve apostles only Peter, James and John experienced the Transfiguration. Many are called but few are chosen. Child of God, are you ready to experience this Transfiguration?

The ball is  in your court! In the book of Revelation 3:20 our Lord Jesus Christ declares, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” If you want to experience Transfiguration all you need to do is to open your door to our Lord Jesus Christ. As Jesus enters into your home and into your life, your life will never remain the same. He will not only transform you He will also restore your lost glory.

During the Transfiguration Elijah and Moses appeared and they were talking to Jesus. Although the gospel of Mark did not state clearly what they were discussing with Jesus.  According to St. Luke “Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of His departure which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem (Luke 9:30-31). Moses and Elijah represents the two major pillars of Judaism, namely the Law and the Prophet.

Seeing these two great pillars and the glory from above, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is well that we are here; let us make three booths, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah;” for he did not know what to say, for they were exceedingly afraid.” What a glorious experience! There is no way you will experience what Peter experienced without expressing what He expressed.

With Divine Transfiguration, your life will never remain the same. You will not only reflect the glory of God you will also experienced fullness of joy, inner peace and inner fulfillment. You will definitely cry out with Peter, saying, “It is well that we are here!” You will never regret connecting yourself to the Presence of the Most High God.  You will never regret visiting God in His Sanctuary, especially the Blessed Sacrament.

While they were still gazing, a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, “This is my beloved Son; listen to him.” Our Lord Jesus Christ has just been confirmed by the Most High God as the Beloved Son of God.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Sacrificial Lamb whom Abraham refers to in Genesis 22:1-18. When Isaac asked his Father Abraham “where is the lamb for sacrifice”, he answered “God will provide.”

In his letter to the Romans 8:31-34 St. Paul wrote, “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him?” Jesus is indeed God’s gift to the World (John 3:16) He is indeed the Lamb of God that takes away the Sin of the world. He is indeed the Beloved and only Begotten Son of the Most High God. He is our Elder Brother! He is our Messiah; our Saviour and Redeemer. To Him be glory and Praise both now and forevermore – Amen!

Genesis 22:1-18

In those days: God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, Here am I.” He said, “Take your son, your only-begotten son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” that the Lord will provide the Lamb for sacrifice.

When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order. Then Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here am I.” He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only-begotten son, from me” And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.

And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven, and said “By myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only-begotten son, will indeed bless you, and I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore. And your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies, and by your descendants shall all the nations of the earth bless themselves, because you have obeyed my voice.”

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 116:10 and 15.16-17.18-19 (R. 9)

  1. I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living.

I trusted, even when I said,

“I am sorely afflicted.”

How precious in the eyes of the Lord

is the death of his faithful. R.

Your servant, Lord, your servant am I,

the son of your handmaid;

you have loosened my bonds.

A thanksgiving sacrifice I make;

I will call on the name of the Lord. R.

My vows to the Lord I will fulfil

before all his people,

in the courts of the house of the Lord,

in your midst, O Jerusalem. R.
